Join our local naturalist guides for a fantastic eco-excursion into the back country waters near Key West, Florida, to witness scores of the oceans top predators, the sharks. You will be transported to the salt marshes that surround the island aboard our splendid Tiger Catamaran to view a variety of sharks in their natural habitat. You can also view an assortment of aquatic species in the diverse marine ecosystem of the Keys. You will not find a more comfortable ride as you glide across the crystal-clear waters of this coastal paradise.
Our experienced guides entice an array of sharks to approach our Tiger Cat by distributing an attractive scent into the waters surrounding the vessel. This odor will expand its effect through the local currents, across salt flats, and tidal channels to reach the highly sensitive senses of the predators. Once these creatures smell the scent lure, they will swarm to our location. The usual species that can be seen on this tour include bulls, hammerhead sharks, lemons, nurses, and black tip sharks. On rare occasions participants may even see a tiger shark. The remarkable clarity of the waters near Key West will allow you to see these incredible creatures in great detail. You will be amazed by the sleek powerful bodies of these toothy hunters. Our expert marine guides will teach you all about these remarkable fish.
Other marine species that you may see on this excursion include sea turtles, manta rays, dolphins, as well as tropical and sport fish. You may also spy a score of diverse sea birds like cormorants, white pelicans, and herons. The Keys also serves as a stopover for migratory raptors like eagles, hawks, and falcons. If you are a birder, this tour is a great opportunity to see a wide array of indigenous avian species. We donate a portion of the fee for this tour to the Guy Harvey Research Institute and Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, which are committed to the preservation and scientific research of sharks in the region.
Thanks for suggesting this shark adventure! Sharks have long been one of my favorite creatures and this was the best way to see them out in the wild without going on a shark dive. The captain was great and we talked for quite some time about sharks and the Keys nature in general.
Truly enjoyed by the whole family including our extremely curious 10 and 12 year olds. Informative and education, but still a lot of fun! Glad we chose this trip

We were a little uncertain as to what to expect with this tour, but the tour completely pulled through! everyoen on board seemed to have a great time! the captain was friendly and obviously very imformed on both the sharks and the island habitats of Key West. We got to see plenty of sharks as described and got some cool pictures
We stopped in Key West on the first day of a cruise trip and this was the trip our grandkids were most interested in. The tour time fit in perfectly with the cruise itinerary so we went ahead and did it, and cannot say we have a single complaint! The tour was professional and interesting and we're glad we tried it out
