Key West, Florida, located on the border of two great bodies of water, the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, offers vacationers the opportunity to witness some of the planets most remarkable aquatic creatures. The thriving marine environment of the Florida Keys including brilliantly colored tropical fish, endangered sea turtles, huge manta rays, and, of course, the fish that swim at the top of the oceans food chain, the sharks. Our expert naturalist guides will transport you into the back country flats to see these sleek toothy predators in their natural environment. You will learn everything there is to know about these amazing voracious fish.

On our shark observation excursions into the saltwater flats of Key West, you will be transported aboard a sleek catamaran that has a minimal draft in order to maneuver through the shallows of this area. Our shark experts then draw the sharks to the boat by releasing an alluring scent into the water. As the odor drifts out into the currents and flats, the sharks will detect it with their remarkably sensitive sense of smell. You will be astounded by the amount of swarming sharks that will surround the hull.

The shark species that may be viewed on these adventures include bull sharks, lemon sharks, nurse sharks, and black tip sharks. Occasionally, passengers on our shark watching expeditions may even spot a tiger shark or a hammerhead. Since the waters in flats are usually crystal-clear, viewers will have no difficulty seeing every small detail of these alpha hunters.
