Key West is a small island and the airport is only about three miles from the popular and historic Old Town area of Key West. Many people choose to fly into airports in Miami and Ft Lauderdale to make the drive down to the island along the Overseas Highway. Other travelers also fly in to the airport in Ft. Myers and catch the Key West Express ferry right into Key West.

Every day, hundreds of cruise ship passengers are dropped off in the heart of Old Town Key West to explore its historic streets, diverse bars, and delicious restaurants. Several cruise ship companies make stops in Key West and on any given day there is at least one, and oftentimes two or three, massive cruise ships docked in Key West. The main cruise ship docks are in the heart of Key West, making it easy for cruise ship passengers to get to all the best spots.
