Key West is located just a couple miles from the largest and most extensive living coral reef ecosystem in the continental United States. Stretching from the Atlantic Ocean just east of Stuart, Florida all the way out past the islands of the Dry Tortugas, Florida's coral reef system rivals that of many of the top Caribbean diving destinations. Key West has the unique advantage of being located just a couple miles from some of the system's most dense and vibrant coral reef gardens. When you go scuba diving in Key West, you step into a one-of-a-kind world populated by all kinds of soft and hard corals, over two hundred species of reef fish, and many other resident marine creatures like sea turtles, lobster, and rays.

Our Key West scuba diving excursions have over a dozen different dive sites. In addition to diving trips out to the breathtaking coral reef gardens, we also offer unforgettable excursions to several of the best Key West shipwrecks. Even visitors who are not fully certified as scuba divers can join in on the fun with the Dive In A Day course or with a spot as a snorkeler on the dive boat. The USS Vandenberg

The most recent addition to the list of top Key West shipwreck dive sites is one that is truly unique and unforgettable. This new shipwreck, USS Vandenberg, was sunk in May of 2009 and instantly became the world's second largest artificial reef. Enthusiastic divers from all over the world have been coming to Key West since the Vandenberg was first opened to the public to experience this massive shipwreck. With a beam width of 71.5 feet and a length of 520 feet, the Vandenberg is a truly impressive shipwreck dive site. The wreck lies just a couple miles off the coast of Key West and sits in 140 feet of water with its superstructure reaching up to about 90 feet of water. All Open Water certified divers are welcome to join our expert team of Key West dive masters in exploring this truly one-of-a-kind dive site.
